The M133 is a shotgun that appears in Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Battles of Kyrat, Valley of the Yetis, Far Cry 5, Far Cry Arcade, Hours of Darkness, Far Cry New Dawn and Far Cry 6.
The M133 appears to be a mix of the Russian Baikal MP-133 shotgun, mixed with Russian Bekas 12m. It has been modified with the pump handle of the later Remington 870. It has rails for scopes mounted on the top. It uses standard 12 Guage shotgun shells of any type. The shotgun is a classic tube chambered shotgun, but magazine versions of MP133 does exist in real life.
It’s one of the most appearing weapons in the franchise, appeared from Far Cry 3 to 6 (Obviously not counting Primal, and it’s also absent from Blood Dragon). It has 4 main variants, the standard M133, M133 M (without buttstock), M133 MS (without buttstock and shortened barrel) and M133 V (Vietnam variant). With the Vietnam variant becoming the replacement for the regular M133 in Far Cry 6. In Far Cry 3 and 4 it has a signature variant called “Bull”, which has increased damage stats and range, in Far Cry 4 it’s even silenced.
The M133 are only used by Berserker units (from Far Cry 3 to New Dawn), ironically making it an easily obtained weapon for the player as Berserkers are common enemy types in the games. It doesn’t appear to be carried by NPCs in Far Cry 6, and wouldn’t be obtainable if they did, as weapons cannot be picked up, but can be found in weapons chests however.
Once obtained, the M133 becomes a great starter weapon, as it almost instant kills any non heavy enemies, and medium sized predators. It’s however become less affective towards heavy enemies and larger animals. In Far Cry 4, using it on Rhinos are way too risky, however the signature “The Bull”, can at very close range kill a rhino with a headshot. It can be used throughout most games, but it’s advised to be replaced with better shotguns. It has a slower fire rate due to the pump action, and the reload time is also slow if the right skills or perks aren’t acquired. Also in Far Cry 4 and Arcade, DO NOT use it against Yetis. They’re practically unaffected by it.
There's a key notice of the M133 V. Its appearance during Hours of Darkness DLC would be impossible as its basis are developed in the 1990s, thus could not physically appear during the Vietnam war. It could be a reminiscence of the Remington 870 however, as those were developed in the 1950s. Looking close, its resemblance seems to appear like the 870, but traits of the Baikal 133 is still visible.
