The El Pequeño is a Resolver weapon in Far Cry 6.

Description

“ This massive machine gun could stop a tank (or two) but isn't the most accurate weapon in your loadout. ”

In-game Description

“ Walk softly and carry a big belt-fed triple-barrel 60-pound bullet-spraying monstrosity. ”

Juan Cortez

Strategy

-The ol' reliable Gatling gun, outclassing its more commonplace LMG counterparts (except maybe the MG42) while none of them can hope to match its raw damage and long magazine size.

-One key drawback is that the Resolver weapon, both taking it out and reloading, requires for the built-in motor to be cranked, eating up precious seconds especially in the middle of a firefight. Adding onto that, the barrel has to get into a good spin before it can start firing, so timing your exposure to enemy gunfire to return the favor is important. That said, there is a way to minimize the latter issue: when ATS, the barrel can be spun on its own, and only pulling the trigger will actually cause it to fire, allowing for the spin-up to take place ahead of entering the enemy's line of sight.

-This weapon is a good ballistic counterpart to taking out vehicles next to the Zeusito as the sheer rate of fire (12 rounds per second) coupled with having blast rounds as the default means it chews up bodies and ordinance like wet tissue paper; the reinforced windshields might give a bit of trouble initially, but anywhere else is fair game.

Location

Trivia

  • "El Pequeño" in Spanish translates to "The Little One".
  • Juan's commentary references the Big Stick ideology, attributed to 26th US President Theodore Roosevelt regarding his administration's foreign policy, though the actual phrase was "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."
  • It is the second minigun, to be introduced in the Far Cry series after a long time. The first one being from Far Cry.
